Fact of the day – 30th October

Europe hasn’t always had the substantial body of research on child-to-parent violence that we see today. Before 2015, much CPV research had been concentrated in North America and Australia. Between 2013 and 2015, the EU-funded Responding to Child to Parent Violence (RCPV) project brought together Spain, Bulgaria, Ireland, Sweden and England in the first cross-European, multi-agency collaborative response to CPV. The project researched policy and practice, developed training and tools, and implemented intervention programmes across participating countries.

Spain was particularly important in this developing European picture. The RCPV project identified Spain as having already conducted more work on CPV, and Spanish researchers have subsequently continued to develop and evaluate specific intervention approaches.
