CPV Research Findings

One of the many joys of what I do is hearing about research that is taking place, bringing greater understanding of the issue of child to parent violence, and developing resources that will better help and support families in the future. So forgive me if the blog posts seem a little research-focussed over the next weeks!

Bethan Pell, studying at Cardiff University, contacted me some time ago and I have been eagerly waiting the report from her Masters studies and her plans as she progresses to begin her PhD.

Bethan’s work is around developing an understanding of child and adolescent to parent violence and abuse (CAPVA) in Wales specifically; and she used her Masters element to look at methods for working effectively with this vulnerable population, examining creative and visual approaches particularly. She has developed this amazing infographic to present the findings from this stage of her research, and I would urge you to take the time to look through it. A joy visually, it lays out the 5 themes identified in the course of the research, main messages, and the next steps.

Bethan is very interested to hear from anyone who would like to contribute to the next stage of her work, and is also exploring connecting with other students in this field more generally to share experiences and ideas.
